Street Fighter V at Comic-Con

As you all know, I went to San Diego Comic-Con this past week. There were a number of pre-release games available to play. I went to the Capcom booth and had the chance to get some good hands on play time with Street Fighter V! I must say, I was impressed and I had a lot of fun!

The Capcom booth had eight game setups, one with PS4 controllers and the others with fight sticks. The fight stick stations made me appreciate using a fight stick over a controller. There was also a small stage, for the tournaments that were being held, with a large TV above to show the matches.

I am not a huge fan of Street Fighter, was never very good at it. I like Super Smash Bros. over all fighting games anyway. Regardless, Street Fighter V's pre-release build was accessible, and very fun to play. The game controlled well, especially with the fight sticks that were provided at each station. The graphics looked great, the many particle effects, EX, and trigger moves were also impressive. I really liked the character models. They had a lot of detail, the facial features were almost too realistic.

There were six fighters to choose from on the first day, Ryu, Cammy, Chun-Li, Birdie, M. Bison and Nash. They added Ken to the roster for the final two days of Comic-Con. My favorite character of the bunch was Nash, for his kicks and ability to teleport

As I was never good at Street Fighter, I didn't think I'd like it or grasp the game that well. Surprisingly, after about four or five matches I began to understand it and play pretty well. I actually won my first match in a tournament they held lol!

My hands on time with Street Fighter V has influenced me heavily towards purchasing the game! The gameplay is similar for all those who love the series, while still being accessible enough for new players to come in and immediately enjoy the game!
