Star Wars Battlefront at Comic-Con
BTW the picture was taken by me at the demo station! |
What can I say about this game, besides that I am currently insanely hype for it? I got the chance to play two different game modes of the game. One Co-Op game mode called Siege, and another 20 Vs 20 Conquest type game mode.
I demoed Battlefront at the NerdHQ spot at Comic-Con. I played Siege first on the PS4, and then the 20 Vs. 20 Conquest on a nice PC. The first thing I noticed about Battlefront was the attention to detail of the Star Wars Universe. The character models were incredible, they looked like they were pulled right from the movies! The Rebels and Imperials, as well as the Walkers looked great as well! The next thing that caught my attention were the sounds within the game. Everything sounds so authentic! Every blaster shot and TIE fighter flying overhead sounded as if I was in the Battle of Hoth myself.
The gameplay was great! I personally have a soft spot for third person shooters, so the inclusion of two point of view options is great for me. In the Star Wars Universe no one really aimed down the sights of a gun, and Battlefront reflects that. That was a minor issue for fans of many current shooters. After my experience with the game I must say it works quite well. The blasters do not feel terribly inaccurate, and I had no trouble securing some longer distance kills. I was briefly able to dogfight in a TIE fighter which was pretty cool, I didn't have much success though. I also really like the random ability pickups that can be used, like the ion torpedo, rocket jump, and barrage.
Overall, this demo really upped my anticipation for this game! I mean, I was already super hype but you can never be too excited!
I'm ready for this game to come out! I can't wait!
