I have really liked MMO's since my young days on
Adventure Quest and
Runescape. I like the fact that It allows many people from all over the world to connect and play together! I got into them and stayed with them because I always had friends to play them with. My best friend and I constantly competed for level supremacy in many games. I had him beat in Adventure Quest circa 2004. While he out shined me, heavily, in Runescape around 2005 to like 2011 lol. I was no slouch, but he was head and shoulders above me. Surprisingly, there was one game that we were neck and neck in. That game was Perfect World. We don't play it at all anymore. That was a game where we could both do all the same missions together.
I just thought the above picture was funny. MMO's are complex, deep, and can be overwhelming. Once you play for a bit, you start to get the hang of it and they really do become simple. Having a friend playing along with you makes the learning process that much more enjoyable.
The only con about MMO's is that they are an insane time sink. I love spending time working on my character and doing quests. I just have other things I want to do. Like social things, working out, and watching Netflix... That being said, MMO's will continue to be a staple in my gaming preferences. As will be a part of millions of other people's repertoire.
I'm out.
