Life Is Strange #1

I started this game today. I played and completed the first episode, named Chrysalis. I was persuaded to play this game by someone I follow on twitter. I did not know what to expect.

I am honestly much more than pleasantly surprised, I really like it a lot. The first thing that grabbed my attention, besides the art style, was the ability to interact nearly every object. Each thing you interact with has dialogue attached to it! You can talk to or say something about nearly everything. My favorite aspect of this game is fact that it is choice driven. As in each choice you make has a negative or positive consequence. Those choices can affect the past present and future. It reminds me of a Bioware product.

The game is beautiful, no other way I can put it. The art style is akin to a sort of water-color painting. There are varying shades of every color. Like when you use differing amounts of water on your watercolor brush. As you can see in the sunset above, which looks vivid and natural. I also feel that the animation in this game is well done. The characters' movements look natural, and are not abrupt or sudden.

I do not have much to say in regards to the story except that it is very engrossing. In my experiences with the first episode, I can say it evokes a lot of nostalgia of teenage years..

I'll definitely have more words for the upcoming episodes as they are released and I play them.

Stay tuned. I'm out.
