Nintendo and What They Can Do to Regain Their Throne.

Nintendo has really floundered in this gaming generation with the Wii U. They hit the sales jackpot with the Wii previously and were poised to repeat that level of success. Nintendo just hasn't been able to thrive in this generation, and I have a few ideas of how they can resurge to relevancy.

First. Nintendo should really increase the horse power of their next console. The console doesn't have to be able to produce photo-realistic graphics, it just needs to be comparable to its counterparts. 3rd party developer support has been an issue with Nintendo for some years now, and a lot of that is due to having to scale back their game for a less powerful system. Scaling back a game can sometimes come at the cost of changing the developer's vision for the game. Developers want to create their game and if the system can't handle it then they'll skip that system.

Second. Nintendo should lower its walls when it comes to letting people stream and post Let's Plays of their games on YouTube. Those are two great forms of advertisement at basically zero cost to Nintendo. The most popular YouTuber in the world right now is PewDiePie, and he has spoken out against Nintendo's YouTube and content policies. Nintendo allows a select list of games to be streamed/uploaded.

Third. Nintendo should really invest in online play. Sony and Microsoft have an insane amount of resources invested in online play and it continues to pay off. While Nintendo has slowly moved closer to a more involved online strategy they still lag behind the other two. When games like Mario Party aren't advertised with online play at the forefront, something is amiss. Nintendo's party games have online play written all over them! People love party games, and if you haven't got friends to play with on your couch how great would it be to fire up a game of "ONLINE" Mario Party?

These are just a few of the things that I think Nintendo could do to really take a step towards regaining their deserved level of respect in the industry.
